Three jackpots hit in one week at South MS casinos. The latest was a ‘shoe-in’
Silver Slipper Casino in Hancock County is known for its attention-grabbing promotions and the latest was a real kick that produced the third $100,000-plus jackpot of the week at South Mississippi casinos.
An unidentified player won $105,000 in the Thursday drawing of Silver Slipper’s “27 Slippers of Cash” promotion.
This follows a $206,250 prize won Monday at Harrah’s Gulf Coast in Biloxi and a $107,077 jackpot won Thursday at Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville, both on a Dragon slot machine.
For those who didn’t win the Silver Slipper jackpot this time, the game reset and launches again at $10,000 starting Thursday, Oct. 30.
The progressive promotion at Silver Slipper kicked off in June and grew by $5,000 each week there was no winner. It was guaranteed to pay out by Thanksgiving.
The win came in a drawing Thursday evening at the Stage Bar. The person would choose one of the high heel shoes and win either $500 in free play or the jackpot.
Since the prize paid out early, the promotion reset like a lottery game and another 27 Slippers winner is guaranteed by Thanksgiving.
“It’s always a thrill to see one of our guests take home a big win, and this jackpot created incredible excitement,” said Angi Truebner Webb, the resort’s general manager. “This promotion captured the spirit of the Silver Slipper, and we couldn’t be happier for our winner.”
The promotion made Silver Slipper a Thursday night destination for locals and visitors. Players got one entry per day they visited, up to seven a week. A line-up of Thursday night events added to the festivities. Rumble on the Gulf, a beach party with classic cars and live music, continues through Oct. 30 and line dancing and classes are every Thursday night at the Stage Bar.
Among the most exciting promotions in South Mississippi came when $1 million was put on display and won during the first anniversary of Silver Slipper Casino.
South Mississippi casinos have paid out 24 six-figure jackpots in 2025, with two months still to go. The winners are:
