Your movie closeup will have to wait. It’s Harvey’s fault.
Tropical Depression Harvey is going to delay your film debut if you’re one of the many Coast residents who had hoped to volunteer as extras Saturday evening into Sunday for crowd scenes being filmed in Jones Park for a television Christmas movie.
The city just sent out a notice saying filming will be rescheduled due to heavy rains expected this weekend. Casting on the Coast is notifying those who have signed up about rescheduled film days, or check their Facebook page for a notice.
If you haven’t signed up yet, you have until Thursday to send an email to castingonthecoast@gmail.com, with “Volunteer extras” in the subject line and a photograph attached.
City spokesman Chris Vignes said response to the casting call has been “huge,” with more than 650 emails sent to Casting on the Coast by Tuesday afternoon. The casting call was announced Monday.
