Coroner identifies 3 South MS victims killed in 2 separate car crashes on I-10
Authorities have identified three people killed in two separate crashes this week on Interstate 10 in Biloxi.
Police responded to the first crash around 2 a.m. Wednesday between the Woolmarket exit and the Biloxi River. Authorities said the victim’s car collided with an unoccupied car on the shoulder and spun back into the interstate, where it was hit by another car.
The crash killed Yulone Solomon, 55, of Gulfport, according to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.
Authorities first reported five cars were involved in the early Wednesday crash. Police clarified later this week that only three cars were involved. Two drivers who witnessed the crash stayed at the scene to give statements to police.
Police responded to the second collision Thursday night. Authorities said two pedestrians were killed while crossing the interstate between the Tchoutacabouffa River and Exit 41.
The crash killed Christina Frank, 36, of Gulfport, and Heather Gabbard, 40, of Picayune, according to the coroner.
Authorities said it was unclear why the women entered the interstate.
