Two pedestrians killed while crossing Interstate 10 in Biloxi, authorities say
Two pedestrians trying to cross Interstate 10 in Biloxi were hit and killed by cars Thursday night, authorities said.
Biloxi police responded to the scene at 6:49 p.m. and said a car that belonged to one of the pedestrians was parked on the shoulder. Witnesses told police the pedestrians were trying to cross the westbound lanes near the Woolmarket exit.
Police said four cars hit the pedestrians, who died at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating why the pedestrians were in the road. Lt. Candace Young, a spokesperson for the police department, said the pedestrians’ car was not broken down.
She said the crash was an accident and that none of the drivers were impaired or driving erratically. The four cars involved in the crash stayed at the scene Thursday night.
The crash happened about a mile from another collision on I-10 that killed one person early Wednesday.
