As the coronavirus fourth wave rages in Mississippi, health officials are grappling with the state’s low vaccination rate.
With hospital ICU floors over capacity and the COVID-19 delta variant infecting younger patients, more Mississippians have elected to get the vaccine recently, but the overall numbers are still cause for concern. Mississippi was the second least vaccinated state in the U.S. on Monday, Aug. 23.
But things changed on Monday when the U.S. Food and Drug administration approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine to treat COVID.
