Police say angry man set Gulfport home on fire
Police and the Fire Department are investigating a fire that happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Bridge Street.
Police responded to a burglary call at the residence and found the house to be on fire.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel said officers found the home engulfed in flames. Two people were safely removed from the burning home.
McDaniel said someone forced their way into the house and set it on fire after becoming angry with a female occupant.
Kyle Ladner, 21, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on charges of first-degree arson and resisting arrest by flight.
McDaniel said Ladner was arrested at his residence on 54th Street after a brief foot chase with police officers.
Ladner’s bond was set at $25,000 by Judge Brandon Ladner.
