Ocean Springs tattoo artist wanted retro feel for festival poster
The artwork of a Gulfport native will represent one of the area’s biggest festivals.
Benjamin Rusher on Wednesday was announced as the winner of the 35th Annual Biloxi Seafood Festival poster contest.
The announcement was made during Biloxi Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich’s breakfast at the Hard Rock Casino.
Rusher, who lives in Ocean Springs and works as a tattoo artist, said the inspiration for his piece was seafood heritage.
Posters can be purchased at the Biloxi Visitors Center, Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce and Negrotto’s Gallery. Cost is $50 for signed and numbered prints and $25 for unsigned prints.
The festival will be Sept. 10-11 at Point Cadet Plaza.
