Gulfport officer seriously injured in crash, police say
A Gulfport Police Department officer has been seriously injured in a crash, the agency tweeted Monday evening.
Sgt. Clayton Fulks said the crash happened about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Creosote and Three Rivers roads.
He said an officer was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The officer was attempting to stop a van reported as stolen, he said, when it hit the police cruiser the officer was driving.

Units are on scene of accident with injuries involving a GPD Officer. The Officer has been transported with serious injuries. Investigation ongoing. The other vehicle was reported as stolen.
