Biloxi firefighters battled a fire Sunday that seriously damaged a home on Back Bay, Fire Chief Joe Boney said.
The fire was reported shortly before 4 p.m. at a two-story home on Kensington Drive. When firefighters got to the scene, smoke and flames could be seen rising from the home.
No one was home when the fire started, Boney said. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Boney said it appears something on the ground caught fire, possibly grass, and then spread to the side of the home, up the wall and to the attic area.
Never miss a local story.
Firefighters worked to get the attic open to battle the blaze.
