Peek inside a tiny house in Gulfport
A tiny home that’s big on details will be available for tours at the Gulfport 84 Lumber store from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
The company said in a press release it is the nation’s only large retailer to enter the tiny house market and is taking its Tiny Living collection on the road.
Four models of the Tiny Living by 84 Lumber houses range in size from 150 to 210 square feet. The one that will be at the U.S. 49 Gulfport store at 3804 25th Ave. is the 154-square-foot Shonsie model. It’s a cottage-style home with a blue metal roof and polymer composite siding, built on a custom steel trailer. Sliding-glass patio doors open onto the front porch.
Inside, a rolling library ladder leads up to a 52-square-foot sleeping loft that accommodates a full-sized mattress. The exposed-rafter ceiling, blue epoxy floor and sliding barn door are all interesting features. There’s also a ceiling storage compartment.
Tiny Living by 84 Lumber houses range in price from $6,884 for a trailer and plans to $59,884 for a move-in-ready, fully outfitted tiny home.
