Important cancellations and postponements happening across Mississippi Coast after storm

The possibility of several inches of snow and ice on Tuesday is expected to close many businesses and cancel most events. Along with schools and casinos, here is the latest list:
Closings
▪ Coast Transit Authority will not run bus service on Tuesday. Normal bus service is expected to resume at 1 p.m. Wednesday if roads are passable.
▪ Coastal Family Health Center will be closed Tuesday and will reopen at noon Wednesday if conditions permit.
▪ Gulf Islands National Seashore will close the William Colmer Visitor Center and the Davis Bayou Campground office on Tuesday. The campground restrooms will be open to registered campers only. There will be no public restrooms available in Mississippi.
▪ Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport reports flight schedules have been impacted by the weather. Passengers should continue to check directly with their air carrier for the most up to date flight information.
▪ Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula is suspending operations Tuesday and Wednesday plus the third ad fourth shift on Monday. Essential personnel, who are required to be on-site, will be notified by their management.
▪ Keesler Air Force Base announces a base closure and non-training day on Tuesday and delayed reporting for Wednesday, with the base reopening at noon. The Commissary, AAFES, dining facilities, base fitness center, youth center and child development centers will be closed Tuesday, On Wednesday,AAFES will reopen at 1 p.m., the youth and child development centers will open at 11:30 a.m., fitness center will open at noon and the dining facilities will open for dinner.
▪ Keesler Federal Credit Union branches in Louisiana, Alabama and South MS will be closed Tuesday.
▪ Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
▪ Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport will be closed Tuesday.
▪ Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday,
▪ Rouses Markets at Diamondhead and Picayune will be closed on Tuesday, The other locations in Mississippi will close at noon Tuesday.
▪ Walter Anderson Museum of Art will be closed Tuesday and plans to reopen at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
▪ Winn-Dixie stores will stay open as long as possible for in-store and online shopping.
Trash collections
▪ Coastal Environmental in Hancock County will have no trash collection Tuesday or Wednesday. The schedule is being adjusted.
▪ Diamondhead — All Tuesday and Wednesday garbage pickups will run on Thursday. All Thursday and Friday Diamondhead garbage pickups will run on Friday.
▪ Harrison County Utility Authority solid waste routes will not run on Tuesday and a late start is expected Wednesday. Routes will run one day later for the rest of the week.
▪ Waste Management has suspended all garbage and trash collection service in Harrison and Jackson counties, and surrounding areas on Tuesday. The company will evaluate conditions on Tuesday and provide an update on service for Wednesday.
▪ Waveland will only have one pickup of garbage this week. If your pickup is Monday/Thursday, then Monday will be your only pickup. If your pickup is Tuesday/Friday, then your only pickup will be Friday. Regular schedule should return next week.
Medical closings
Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will adjust outpatient operations at the main medical center and clinics Tuesday and Wednesday. In-person outpatient appointments for Tuesday and until noon Wednesday will be postponed or converted to virtual as possible. Staff members will be reach out to reschedule.
▪ Memorial Hospital walk-in clinics are closed Tuesday. Memorial Physician Clinics will be closed Tuesday and will reopen with adjusted hours on Wednesday. Virtual care through MemorialConnectNow is available 24/7 by calling 228-867-5000. Valet services will not be available at the main campus Tuesday and Wednesday.
▪ Mississippi Health Departments in all Coast counties will be closed Tuesday.
▪ Ochsner Health urgent care locations will close at 7 p.m. Monday and remain closed Tuesday. Clinics across greater New Orleans, Northshore, Bayou and Mississippi Gulf Coast will close on Tuesday. Clinic appointments and elective procedures scheduled for Tuesday are postponed and will be rescheduled. Patients with clinic appointments will be contacted and rescheduled or offered a virtual visit, when available.
▪ Singing River Health System will close all clinics and reschedule all elective surgeries scheduled for Tuesday. Clinics are expected to reopen by noon, on Wednesday and elective surgeries will resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Clinic closures include all medical office buildings, imaging centers, and neuroscience facilities. Patients with scheduled appointments should contact their clinic to reschedule. Singing River’s emergency services remain open 24/7.
City and county closings
▪ Bay St. Louis city offices are closed Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.
▪ Biloxi city offices are closed Tuesday.
▪ D’Iberville city offices will be closed Tuesday and reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Tuesday’s city council meeting is moved to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
▪ Diamondhead city offices will be closed Tuesday. The city council meeting on Tuesday is postponed until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
▪ Gautier city administrative offices will be closed Tuesday. The city council meeting will be conducted remotely; however, a live stream will not be available.
▪ Gulfport — City offices will be closed on Tuesday and remain closed until 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Essential services, including police, fire, and public works, will remain operational. Tuesday’s council meeting is moved to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
▪ Hancock County offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
▪ Harrison County offices and buildings will be closed Tuesday and will open at noon Wednesday.
▪ Jackson County government offices, including the Jackson County Landfill, court systems, extension service and recreation facilities, will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Offices are expected to open again at regular times Thursday..
Jackson County Supervisors will still meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
▪ Long Beach city facilities will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Facilities will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday. Court sessions are postponed. Updated dates and times will be sent by mail. The Long Beach Board of Aldermen meeting is recessed until 3 p.m.
▪ Moss Point city offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.
▪ Ocean Springs offices will be closed Tuesday and are expected to open at noon Wednesday. The mayor and aldermen will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday as scheduled.
▪ Pascagoula city offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Waste Pro services are suspended for Tuesday. Tuesday’s council meeting will be held by conference call.
Pass Christian city offices will be closed Tuesday and have a delayed opening Wednesday. The board of aldermen meeting is moved to Wednesday at the regular time.
▪ Waveland city offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday’s Mayor & Aldermen meeting will be moved to T6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Cancellations
▪ Biloxi City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m.
▪ Business Expo at Biloxi Visitor Center on Tuesday has been postponed. Biloxi Bay Area Chamber of Commerce says a new date will be announced.
▪ Long Beach meeting of the mayor and board of aldermen scheduled for Tuesday will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
