Managers of the 12 casinos in Biloxi and across South Mississippi are accustomed to dealing with tropical weather, but not the inches of snow and ice forecast to fall on Tuesday.
While most casinos will be open, in part since they have hotel guests, some of the casinos will close their restaurants and other amenities.
They include:
Palace Casino Resort is closed Tuesday and will remain closed on Wednesday. Limited restaurant service is available only for hotel guests. The casino, sports book, gift shop and other restaurants will be closed until Thursday at 8 AM.
“The snowfall and predicted drop in temperature tomorrow will make roads and bridges dangerous,” said Keith Crosby, general manager.
Boomtown Biloxi is closed and will reopen Wednesday at noon.
Scarlet Pearl Casino will continue to stay closed on Wednesday, and reopen at noon on Thursday.
“We can’t wait to welcome our guests back to Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort with fully operational gaming, restaurants and boutique,” the casino said in a press release.
Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is monitoring conditions but expects to remain open.
Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast reports some venues and operations will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Normal operations are expected to resume on Thursday.
IP Casino Resort will have limited venues open on Tuesday.
Silver Slipper Casino: The casino has a web page to keep customers updated on what is open and closed. Open are slots, bar, Palm Court and the hotel.
Closed Tuesday and Wednesday are Jubilee Buffet, Blue Bayou, table games and gift shop.
Business as usual is expected to resume Thursday.
Treasure Bay Casino: The casino and hotel will remain open. Infinity Buffet will reopen at 4 p.m. Thursday. The Den/Blu will reopen at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Cove will remain open until 7 a.m. on Thursday.
The Sun Herald will continue to update the list.
