After world tour, Chapel Hart returning to South Mississippi for special Christmas event
Chapel Hart will be home for Christmas, sharing holiday songs from their new album and favorites like “You Can Have Him Jolene” in South Mississippi.
The trio from Picayune — sisters Danica and Devynn Hart, and their cousin Trae Swindle — rose to international fame on “America’s Got Talent.”
They will fill The Sound amphitheater in Gautier with holiday spirit at the last show before Christmas. “A Hartfelt Christmas with Chapel Hart,” starts at 7 p.m. on Dec. 23, and special guest is 2 Lane Summer.
Tickets are $20 and lawn chairs will be allowed for the family friendly community celebration.
Chapel Hart released their Christmas album in October. After touring Europe earlier this year, they took their music to Japan and Okinawa in November, performing for the troops, along with playing the Ryman again in Nashville.
In December they’ll be singing at the Sony Theater in New York, the Opry Christmas in Nashville and concerts in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and the Midwest.
“These ladies have found a way to gift wrap their Mississippi roots and Louisiana spunk and share it with listeners around the world,” their concert tour promos say.
Music to make you dance or cry
Some of the songs on the new album will have audiences wanting to get up and dance, said Danica Hart, while their rendition of “Mary Did You Know” will make listeners feel like it’s Christmas Eve at their South Mississippi church. Other classics they cover are “O Holy Night” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.”
The first single from their Christmas album, “Come On Santa (Ready For Christmas Now)” was released in October. Country music icons who joined the Mississippi girls on the album are Darius Rucker (“That Time Of Year”), Vince Gill (“Silver Bells”) and Gretchen Wilson (“Hartfelt Family Christmas”).
Representing Mississippi at Rose Bowl
The musicians have had professional and personal challenges since they appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2022, when they were awarded the Golden Buzzer from all five judges.
While they are still waiting for a country music award, vindication and validation for their hard work and touring came last week when they performed at the Origins Impact Awards show.
“After the performance, we were getting ready to exit and our friends One the Duo walked on stage to present us as the very first recipients of the Impact Award,” they posted on their Facebook page. “We were floored,” they said. “The moral of the story is whatever you do, don’t give up, don’t stop believing, know that God has a plan for you, he hasn’t given up on you.”
They won’t be home in South Mississippi for long. Chapel Hart will help ring in the New Year as part of the 136th Rose Parade on New Year’s Day in California, riding on the float that celebrates Mississippi as the birthplace of music legends BB King and Elvis Presley and the blues.
