All 5 ‘America’s Got Talent’ judges hit ‘Golden Buzzer’ for country trio Chapel Hart

An all-female country group from Mississippi advanced to the second round of “America’s Got Talent” Tuesday night.

Chapel Hart impressed “AGT” judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Terry Crews so much that they earned the “Golden Buzzer,” sending them straight to the next round.

“I needed you today,” Cowell said after their performance. “That was fantastic. I love you.”

The country group is made up of Danica and Devyn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swindle.

Chapel Hart has played gigs on the Mississippi Coast, including at 100 Men Hall D.B.A. in Bay St. Louis. They are known for their hit single “You Can Have Him Jolene,” an apparent response to Dolly Parton’s hit song “Jolene” which they performed on “AGT.”

“These ladies have found a way to gift wrap their Mississippi roots and Louisiana spunk and share it with listeners around the world,” according to a press release.

Chapel Hart was inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country, a group that helps up-and-coming female artists, according to the release. They were also nominated in several categories of the British CMA Awards.

“Witness the evolution of this band who went from singing together as children in Hart’s Chapel, to a world class group whose colorful and contagious energy has flourished into a full live band experience that fills venues at home and around the country,” the press release says.

To celebrate the occasion, the band hosted a viewing party at The Whiskey Bar in Pass Christian.
