These are the top-rated ALDI favorites to buy when you shop at the new MS Coast store
If you’re planning to be one of ALDI’s first customers this week when the new Ocean Springs store opens, shoppers from across the U.S. can help you pick some of the best store-brand items the grocer offers.
Each year, ALDI shoppers weigh in on their favorite products.
“ALDI fandom runs deep, and our customers are proud to share their enthusiasm for our exclusive products,” said Scott Patton, Vice President of National Buying.
The products will be easy to spot. ALDI adds a blue heart-shaped logo on the shelves of each one. An asterik denotes a repeat winner.
Here are some recent fan favorites
Appleton Farms Premium Sliced Bacon* — Guests love ALDI’s bacon that is good for breakfast, as an addition to a sandwich or crumbled in a salad.
Simply Nature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil — Since studies have found EVOO helps fight cancer and heart disease, it has become the go-to oil for drizzling on bread, salad and pasta. Check out ALDI’s fan favorite with a competitive price.
Clancy’s Kettle Chips* — The chips come in flavors like jalapeño, mesquite barbecue and sea salt and vinegar.
Specially Selected Brioche and French Toast Bagels — These baked goods were the runaway hit in their category, even winning the hearts of bagel diehards in New York.
Friendly Farms Almond, Coconut & Oat Milk* — Consumers love ALDI’s vegan milk offerings, especially its oat milk. It is known for having the most “milk-like” taste of all milk alternatives on the market.
Huntington Home 3 Wick Candles — Competition was fierce in the category for seasonal products. As the holidays near, keep an eye out for runner ups: the Emporium Selection Cheese Assortments and the holiday Advent calendar.
Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Take and Bake Deli Pizza* — These pizzas earned their own “Mama Knows Best” category last year, after winning overall fan favorite in previous years. This year, the pizza was the first product to be recognized in the new Hall of Fame category.
Happy Farms String Cheese* — This crowd pleaser earned more than 50% of the votes and has ruled the category for three years in a row. White Cheddar Puffs nudged out the kiddy favorite in the most recent poll.
PurAqua Belle Vie Sparkling Flavored Water* — ALDI’s sparkling water edged out all of its affordable wine and soda offerings, garnering more than 20,000 votes. “The bubbles tingle on my tongue, and they’re a bit softer and rounder than a lot of other canned seltzers,” wrote Jeanette Hurt for thekitchn.com.
Specially Selected Ravioli — The simple dinner comes in flavors like classic cheese; pear and gorgonzola; and spinach and mozzarella. Bloggers Two Cousins Haul it All praised the ravioli for its texture and ease of use, “Since they are refrigerated, they’re super fast to make when hungry kids are getting cranky around dinnertime.”
Strawberries* — ALDI often has an abundance of fresh produce. Strawberries have been a favorite since the fan favorites survey began, but the summer treats were edged out of the top spot by avocados last year and were the comeback kids this year.
A noteworthy runner-up for the favorites list is a dupe of a pouplar fast food chain’s chicken sandwich.
Diehard fans know by combining Specially Selected Brioche Buns and Kirkwood Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets, you can get a decent copy of the infamous Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. The breaded chicken is so popular, it has a nickname (Red Bag Chicken) and its own Facebook group with nearly 23,000 members.
According to data, foot traffic at ALDI has picked up over time. This weekend’s opening will show whether the growing chain can make a dent in local markets with exclusive products and competitive prices.
