See photos as a new event draws motorcycle lovers to the MS Coast this weekend
A brand new event for motorcycle lovers has kicked off this weekend in Biloxi.
The inaugural Bikin’ The Beach aims to be seen in the same vein as popular vehicle events like Cruisin’ The Coast, Scrapin’ The Coast and Jeepin’ The Coast — except for motorcycles.
The event kicked off Thursday to a bit of a slow start, but event organizer Jason Stearman, who owns The Sanctuary, one of the event’s locations, thinks that won’t last long.
“(Thursday) was kind of a slow burn, and that was cool because it gave us a chance to kind of get logistically set up, and (Friday) has been a totally different animal,” Stearman said. “We’ve got a lot of people, a lot of activity going on. I really think that it’s gonna crank up really heavy (Friday night), and then (Saturday) it’s gonna be really busy.”
With two performance stages, one inside The Sanctuary and one outside on the beach side of U.S. 90 across from Treasure Bay, a vendor village and stunt performances, the weekend-long event is not short on things to do.
“So far, it’s been a really fun event and I think a lot more tame than everybody thought it was going to be,” Stearman said. “It’s just a lot of people that love Harleys, love America, love Mississippi and love the Coast.”
The event is free to attend, except for the main stage areas which require a ticket for entry. A Saturday ticket will run $50 while a Sunday ticket will run $25. Tickets can be purchased online at The Sanctuary’s website.
