No. 1 St. Stanislaus stumbles at Brother Martin (La.)
Louisiana power Brother Martin handed No. 1 St. Stanislaus its first loss of the season Friday, knocking off the Rockachaws 42-7.
Brother Martin (2-0) opened the game on a 21-point run. Chase Rogers caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Myles Brennan mid-way through the second quarter to snap the shutout.
Standout running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling tormented SSC throughout the night, scoring on runs of 22, 69 and 15 yards. He finished with 170 yards on 12 carries.
Brennan’s record-setting moment will have to wait another week.
The LSU commit entered Friday’s contest needing just 372 yards to eclipse former Rockachaw Dylan Favre’s Mississippi career passing mark of 12,559. Brennan finished the game 19 of 35 for 246 yards, giving him 12,434 yards in his prolific prep career.
Brennan will get another shot at becoming Mississippi’s career passing leader next Friday when the Rockachaws (3-1) visit D’Iberville to close out their non-region schedule.
