Motorcycle wreck takes the life of a 27-year-old Gulfport man

A 27-year-old Gulfport man died about 1:45 p.m. Saturday in a motorcycle wreck on Mississippi 15, trooper Chase Elkins with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.

The man was apparently northbound on 15 near Old Highway 15, on a 2006 Yamaha 600. At some point he lost control and was thrown from the bike, Elkins said.

The man’s name is being withheld until his family can be notified.

The single-vehicle crash is still under investigation.
