Coroner identifies man killed in Gulfport home invasion
A 30-year-old Gulfport man was shot to death at his residence during a home invasion, Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said.
Hargrove identified the victim of Tuesday night’s shooting as John Earl Kennedy III, who died of a gunshot wound to his chest.
Gulfport police are investigating the shooting in the 13000 block of Artes Street at about 8:55 p.m. Artes is off Three Rivers Road in Gulfport’s Orange Grove area. Artes is just north of Prudie Circle.
Gulfport Police are on scene in the 10000 block of Artes St in reference to one person shot. Will update further as details develop.

In a video statement, Deputy Police Chief Chris Loposser said police responded to a home invasion complaint and found one person was dead and had multiple gunshot wounds.
No arrests have been made, but police say the shooting remains under investigation.
