Tulane to host social work conference

BILOXI -- Tulane's Mississippi Coast Campus has partnered with Praetorian Health Services to host a Continuing Education Conference for social workers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Tulane's new campus in Edgewater Village, 2650 Beach Blvd.

Social workers are required to obtain 40 CEU hours every two years, and the hours are often costly to procure. Those who attend will receive six free continuing education unit hours that are approved by the Mississippi Department of Social Work.

Fred Buttell will lead the conference and discuss the development of domestic violence as a problem in the United States and identify various ways that community-based assessment and intervention programs have been conceptualized and implemented.

Details: 314-1290.
