This week’s football players are nominated from Gautier, George County, Ocean Springs, Picayune and West Harrison.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Friday, Oct. 25, at sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Trey Irving, Gautier: Irving threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another score in a 31-8 win over Wayne County.
  • Deuce Knight, George County: Knight completed 10 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-41 win over Hancock.

  • Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns in the 48-3 win over Harrison Central.

  • Amarie Jackson, Pascagoula: Jackson racked up 150 rushing yards and a touchdown in a 50-21 win over Long Beach.

  • Jacquez Alexander-Dedeaux, Pass Christian: Alexander-Dedeaux rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-0 win over Moss Point.

  • Darrell Smith, Picayune: Smith ran up 253 rushing yards and three scores and caught a 41-yard touchdown pass in a 69-50 win over West Harrison.
  • Jordan Stapleton, West Harrison: Stapleton ran for 242 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Picayune.
