Ocean Springs quarterback Bray Hubbard put pen to paper Wednesday morning and signed with Alabama.

The reigning two-time 6A Mr. Football winner is expected to play safety for the Crimson Tide and was recruited by defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

Hubbard is a three-star prospect on 247sports’ composite rating and is the sixth-ranked prospect in the state. The former Southern Miss baseball commit was responsible for 107 total touchdowns in his storied career as the Greyhounds’ quarterback.

Ocean Springs went 32-5 with Hubbard starting behind center under the guidance of now-Gulfport coach Blake Pennock. He helped lead the Greyhounds to the South State title game this season.

Hubbard was recently visited by Alabama coach Nick Saban and Golding just a week before signing day. The senior plans on enrolling early and joining the team in time for fall camp.

South Mississippi sent two athletes to the SEC on early signing day. Moss Point defensive lineman Jamarious Brown made his signature official with Ole Miss.

Brown is Mississippi’s 11th-ranked prospect and chose the Rebels over offers from Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State and others. He joins former Tiger Larry Simmons on Ole Miss’ roster.
