Meet the Sun Herald Boys Player of the Week

Biloxi senior left-hander Trey Shaffer was at his best Friday night at MGM Park.

The senior threw a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 win over D’Iberville. He faced just one batter over the minimum, walking two batters and striking out five.

Shaffer is 1-1 with a 1.97 ERA in two appearances for the Indians, who are 5-1.

Shaffer signed with Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 10.

Shaffer went 5-0 with a 1.32 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings as a junior.
