Long Beach to host a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras parade to give popular Jeeps their due
A new one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras parade will make its debut in Long Beach this year.
The Carnival Association of Long Beach announced in a press release that it will host “Jeep-A-Gras,” a Jeep-only Mardi Gras parade in downtown Long Beach.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22.
“Due to the popularity of Jeeps, we just felt like they deserved a parade of their own,” Carnival Association of Long Beach President Jason Green said.
The parade will line up at Long Beach High School stadium, then travel south on Cleveland Avenue, turn right on Railroad Street, left on Jeff Davis Avenue, and then disband at the intersection of Jeff Davis Avenue and 5th Street.
The Carnival Association of Long Beach will also be hosting its traditional Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. The parade’s theme this year will be ‘Under the Sea’.
