Four votes decide the Hancock County School Board race. Here are the results.

Just four votes separated the winner in the Hancock County School Board election and the incumbent in District 2.

With the election now certified, Dr. Daniel Henley received 636 votes to defeat incumbent Tammy Garber, who received 632 votes.

Henley said he was “honored and humbled” to be selected.

“My 20 years of diverse educational experience as a high school principal, teacher, college instructor, coach, and bus driver will help me make effective decisions for the stakeholders of the district and to help the superintendent, school board, and educators of the Hancock County School District move the District forward to greater heights.,” Henley said.

The unofficial election returns on Election Day had Daniel Henley winning the race by just three votes, or 634 to 631. He picked up two votes and Garber gained one before the race was certified.

Garber is married to former Hancock County Sheriff Steve Garber.
