I-10 traffic back to full speed after third crash of the week caused major delay
10:57 a.m.: Live cameras show traffic has resumed to full speed on I-10.
10:29 a.m.: MDOT live cameras show traffic beginning to pick up speed, but significant delays are expected to remain for up to another 30 minutes.
10:12 a.m.: Traffic remains at a near-standstill on I-10 in Jackson County and MDOT says the delays could extend up to another 45 minutes.
ORIGINAL STORY
The Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting that the right westbound lane of Interstate 10 is closed in Jackson County.
At 9:39 a.m. MDOT reported a crash between the Gautier-Vancleave Road exit (Exit 61) and the Highway 613 exit (Exit 68). MDOT cameras show traffic at a near standstill west of the Highway 613 interchange.
MDOT says it could take up to an hour before normal traffic flow is restored and is advising drivers to avoid the area.
Thursday’s crash is in nearly the same spot as a series of three crashes on Monday and a crash on Wednesday that caused significant traffic tie-ups.
