Man arrested in Lamar County after fridge theft caught on video
A Hattiesburg man has been arrested in the theft of a refrigerator from a D'Iberville home.
D'Iberville police Capt. Marty Griffin said John Sanders, 45, was arrested Wednesday on the charge of burglary.
A video released Wednesday of a person taking a refrigerator from a home on Johnson Still Road led to Sanders' arrest, authorities said.
He was arrested in Lamar County after someone saw him driving a truck pulling a trailer with the stolen refrigerator.
Sanders is being held in the Lamar County Jail until he can be returned to Harrison County.
"The D'Iberville Police Department was contacted by Lamar County Sheriff's Deputies who advised Sanders was identified by a family member and their agency was familiar with Sanders," Griffins said. Griffins said Sanders may be responsible for other burglaries and could face additional charges.
Sanders' bond was set at $100,000 by judge Albert Fountain.
