MS Coast authorities are investigating two shootings in Gulfport. What we know

A shooting suspect turned himself in on Tuesday after he allegedly fired multiple times at a person and struck a nearby building during an argument on Monday, Gulfport Police said.

The shooting was the first of two reported Monday in Gulfport.

Police were first called at 9:05 a.m. to the 10500 block of Three Rivers Road, Gulfport police said in a news release.

During an argument, police say 18-year-old Caden Mikael Minner-Hall allegedly went inside a home, got a rifle and fired “multiple” times at a victim.

No one was injured in the shooting, police Lt. Jason DuCre said Monday. One bullet struck a nearby building with employees inside, police said. It was not immediately clear what the argument was about or what business the bullet struck.

Hall faces one count of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Shooting at convenience store on Dedeaux Road

Police also responded Monday afternoon to a shooting on Dedeaux Road.

Police were called at 3:56 p.m. to the 13000 block of Dedeaux Road near a Big Boy convenience store, DuCre said.

No injuries were reported.

By 6 p.m., it was still unclear what caused the shooting, DuCre said. He said bullets struck a car and nearby buildings, and authorities found over 20 shell casings at the scene.

Police were looking for suspects and trying to interview witnesses Monday evening, DuCre said.

Authorities responded in June to the same area after four suspects exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of the Big Boy store, police said. Detectives in the area witnessed part of that shooting, police said, and the gunfire also hit an unmarked detective’s vehicle. Police charged four juveniles in the drive-by shooting case.

Police ask anyone with information on either Monday shooting to contact the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
