Biloxi man arrested after MS Coast hit-and-run that left Florida man dead
The Mississippi Highway Patrol arrested a Biloxi man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that resulted in the death of pedestrian, Douglas Couey, of Jacksonville, Florida.
John David Cole, 46, was identified as the driver of blue Hyundai Elantra that hit Couey on Sunday on Mississippi 609 at Big Ridge Road near St. Martin.
Authorities say they arrested Cole on a charge leaving the scene of an accident causing death. His blue cuar was seized from his home.
After his arrest, Cole was taken to the Jackson County jail, where he is being held pending a bond hearing.
Couey died at the scene.
