Troopers looking for blue Hyundai Elantra after fatal hit and run

State troopers are looking for a Hyundai Elantra they believe was involved in a fatal hit and run accident early Sunday.

Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, troopers responded to a fatal wreck involving a pedestrian on Mississippi 609 and Big Ridge Road.

When troopers arrived, they found one person dead in the roadway.

Troopers are looking for the driver of a blue, 2018 Hyundai Elantra they believe left the scene after the accident.

The Elantra was last seen traveling west on Interstate 10 from the area.

The identity of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin is notified.
