Two people die in wreck on U.S. 49 in Harrison County
A two-car wreck on U.S. 49 in northern Harrison County left two people dead, Mississippi Highway Patrol said on Twitter.
The wreck took place near DeSoto Road on U.S. 49 south of McHenry, about 30 miles north of Gulfport.
One other person suffered life-threatening injuries in the wreck.
MHP urged motorists to approach the area with caution. State Troopers remained on the scene and lanes were blocked on the highway.
