Semi-truck overturns and leaks diesel near MS-AL state line on I-10, causing huge delays
Traffic on Interstate 10 will be backed up for hours Thursday after a loaded semi-truck crash near the Mississippi-Alabama state line.
The truck was leaking diesel fuel, prompting hazmat responders to secure the area.
The right lane eastbound is blocked, according to MDOT. At about 1:30 p.m., delays were expected to last two and a half hours
The semi-truck crash followed a collision near Ocean Springs exit 50 that blocked all lanes for a period Thursday morning and caused one hour delays.
Drivers in both crashes sustained moderate injuries, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The two cases followed a incident Wednesday in which an 18 wheeler crashed into marshland near mile marker 73 on Interstate 10, injuring the driver and scattering debris below the interstate. There have been at least four crashes on the interstate this week.
