If you’re traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near the Mississippi-Alabama state line, expect traffic delays through Wednesday morning.

A loaded semi truck crashed into what appears to be marshland near mile marker 73 on Interstate 10, Mississippi Highway Patrol said.

The driver was injured and debris is scattered below the interstate. Photos from MHP show the truck separated from the cargo container.

Lane closures are expected until about 5:30 p.m. as the cleanup process begins in Jackson County, MHP said.

The area is past Moss Point and Pascagoula and is near the Alabama welcome center off I-10.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation says driver can expect congestion and delays until about 1 p.m.

Check MDOT’s traffic cameras for updates.
