Passionate plea to Moss Point residents: ‘If you see something, say something.’
Two men were sitting in a car outside a home Monday night when a masked man walked up and fired several rounds into the car, officials said.
The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. near Washington Street, said Interim Chief Brandon Ashley.
Roderick Murray, 26, was struck by several bullets and the other man, Joshua Liddell, also 26, had a superficial wound. Murray underwent surgery and is in stable but guarded condition at Singing River Hospital.
Police found out about the shooting after the victims showed up at the hospital for treatment.
All police know so far is the suspect was wearing a mask and camouflage sweatshirt with a hoodie, Ashley said.
This is Moss Point’s sixth shooting of 2018. Six people have been injured in gun violence and three have died. There also was a fatal stabbing. Mayor Mario King and other law enforcement officials spoke out against the violence at City Hall on Tuesday.
