GULFPORT -- The public is invited to a candlelight ceremony and awards program Friday to remember crime victims and honor those who serve them.
The program starts at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gulfport on Mississippi 605.
Law enforcement officers from Harrison, Hancock and Stone counties will each light a candle in memory of those in their communities who have lost their lives to violent crime.
This year's theme is "Serving Victims. Building Trust. Restoring Hope."
