HARRISON COUNTY -- A fire Saturday damaged a two-story home Saturday afternoon on West Malley Road in West Harrison County, where a person escaped injuries.
First-responders were notified about 2:46 p.m. that the wood-frame home caught fire, Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan said.
One room had fire damage and other parts of the home had heat and smoke damage, he said.
The fire was under control within 15 minutes after firefighters arrived, he said.
Three engines and seven firefighters responded from West Harrison Fire Department, Pass Christian Fire Department and Harrison County Fire Services.
Sullivan said the cause of the fire is unknown.
Fire investigators from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the county fire marshal's office are trying to determine the cause.
