Dump truck overturns in Hancock County, injuring driver

HANCOCK COUNTY -- A two-vehicle accident involving an overturned dump truck sent one driver to the hospital Friday afternoon.

The collision was on U.S. 90 near Lakeshore Road, just west of the Bayside Park community.

Chief Deputy Don Bass said a westbound dump truck west collided with another a vehicle and flipped over.

The truck's driver suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, Bass said.

The wreckage was cleared from the road by about 4 p.m.
