Coast Electric Power Association is warning its customers of someone posing as an employee to get into homes in the Saucier area.
The energy provider said in a press release two residents had reported a person asked to inspect the breaker box in their homes.
There is no reason a Coast Electric employee should need to enter a home unless the customer has an appointment for a home-energy audit, the press release said. Legitimate workers do not service any equipment inside homes.
Employees will be in marked vehicles, wearing clothing with Coast Electric's logo, and will be able to show their badges if asked.
