D'IBERVILLE -- A person was injured in a residential fire Monday morning in the Forrest Cove subdivision.
Firefighters responded about 4:06 a.m. to a structure fire on Ginger Drive and saw flames shooting out of a bedroom window. The fire quickly spread into the attic space, Deputy Chief Danny Miller said in a press release.
Firefighters extinguished the flames within 16 minutes of the first arriving unit, Miller said.
A family of eight was in the home, and an adult was awoken by the fire and alerted the others to evacuate.

That adult was taken to an area hospital after suffering burns to the head and hands, Miller said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
