Biloxi Council calls special meeting about infrastructure work
The Biloxi Council will meet twice Tuesday at a 4:30 p.m. workshop and the 6 p.m. regular meeting.
On the agenda for the workshop are HNTB, the company hired to oversee the $365 million infrastructure project, and Oscar Renda, the company doing the work north of the tracks in East Biloxi. The council also will discuss the South Contract, for which bids have been opened but not yet awarded for work south of the railroad tracks in East Biloxi.
On the agenda at the regular meeting is the first reading of an ordinance that would create an overlay district in East Biloxi to allow short-term rentals.
Also on the agenda are a request for rezoning for a housing project in Woolmarket, the awarding of a contract for sewer improvements at Holly Bluff and Cedar Lake area and $44,500 in repairs to the Popp's Ferry Bridge.
