Popp's Ferry Road in Biloxi will close again this weekend

The city of Biloxi announced Popp's Ferry Road between Cedar Lake and Gay Roads will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday. Workers will be installing drainage, sewer and water lines near the entrance to the Biloxi Public Safety communications building.

Eastbound motorists can detour south to Brodie Road on Cedar Lake Road and westbound motorists can take Lamey Street to Brodie Road.

The work is part of a project to widen the road from two to four lanes. In addition, a 5-foot sidewalk will be built on the north side of the widened road, and a 10-foot sidewalk on the south side.

The $6.5 Million project, funded mainly by the state Department of Transportation, is expected to be completed in August.
