Two dead in Harrison County crash involving military bus, truck, authorities say
Harrison County authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a military vehicle and a truck that left two people dead and another injured, Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy Hanna Hendry said.
The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Canal Road, just south of Interstate 10.
Naval Construction Battalion Center Public Information Officer Jovi M. Prevot said at least one of the vehicles involved was among several military buses returning from a training exercise with occupants aboard.
A portion of Canal Road was temporarily shut down while authorities investigated the crash.
