Coroner identifies two killed in Harrison County crash involving military bus

Harrison County authorities are investigating multi-vehicle crash involving a military vehicle that left two people dead and another injured, Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy Hanna Hendry said.

The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Canal Road, just south of Interstate 10.

Naval Construction Battalion Center Public Information Officer Jovi M. Prevot said at least one of the vehicles involved was among several military buses returning from a training exercise with occupants aboard.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer identified the deceased as D’Iberville residents Thomas Hanes, 45, and David Luckett, 48. Both died of blunt force trauma, the coroner said.

A portion of Canal Road was temporarily shut down while authorities investigated the crash.
