Update: Victim identified in fatal crash between car, Coast public works truck

One person died and another was seriously hurt after a car and D’Iberville public works truck collided Monday afternoon on Highway 15, authorities said.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the crash at about 3 p.m. just north of Lamey Bridge Road.

The crash killed William “Brad” Parr, 48, of Perkinston, according to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer. The coroner said Parr died at the scene after his Toyota Prius hit the public works truck head-on.

The injured driver of the public works truck was in serious condition at a hospital, authorities said.

The crash briefly shut down Highway 15 until the Highway Patrol reopened lanes by 4 p.m. The Highway Patrol earlier said an SUV was involved in the crash, but Switzer later clarified the car was a Toyota Prius.
