Two people were found dead on Kelly Avenue in Gulfport on Tuesday in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said.

Rachel Lott, 46, of Gulfport, and Robert Henry, 38, of Gulfport were found dead about 11 a.m. in an apartment after someone who hadn’t heard from them in awhile called police for a welfare check.

Police and fire department responders were unable to get into the property and called the landlord before ultimately finding Lott and Henry deceased in Henry’s apartment. Lott reportedly lived in a different apartment on the same property.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said both died of gunshot wounds. Switzer said Lott and Henry had an ongoing relationship.

The Gulfport Police Department, Gulfport Fire Department and the Harrison County coroner responded to the incident in the 2200 block of Kelly Avenue.
