Railroad crossing at US 49 in downtown reopens after train was halted

Traffic at the U.S. 49 railroad crossing in downtown Gulfport was halted for about an hour Monday morning after a train was stopped due to tractor trailer getting stuck on the tracks.

A tractor trailer got stuck Gulf Avenue and East Railroad Street.

Some 18-wheelers and cars were stuck at the crossing at the highway and 16th Avenue. CSX was on scene and helped get the train moving again.
