Teen girl hit by car near busy area of Biloxi beach

A teen girl was hit by a car Saturday afternoon near the Biloxi beach.

At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Biloxi police and firs responders responded to a call of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian at U.S. 90 near Veterans Avenue. The intersection is a high-traffic area and is near Big Play Entertainment Center, a scooter rental and a Shell gas station.

The girl was found unresponsive in the eastbound lanes of the highway after suffering major injuries, police said in a press release.

“Life saving measures were conducted until the victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance,” the release said.

The vehicle that struck the victim remained on scene and the driver is cooperating with police.

The investigation is ongoing. The victims’ condition was not known on Sunday morning.
