Peaceful demonstration in Biloxi joins nationwide protests over George Floyd’s death

About 50 demonstrators gathered in front of the Biloxi Lighthouse on Saturday afternoon, holding signs referencing the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis.

Protests rocked the United States on Saturday, with several states calling in National Guard troops and others seeing peaceful demonstrations.

Floyd’s death was caught on cellphone video, and the image of a white police officer with his knee on the neck of a black man has reignited tensions across the country.
