Where to find kid-friendly and adults-only New Year’s Eve events on the Mississippi Coast
Celebrate with the kids or dance into the next decade this New Year’s Eve on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Here are some suggestions for ways to spend Dec. 31 in Biloxi and beyond:
Kid-friendly celebrations
▪ Countdown to Noon at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, 246 Dolan Ave., Gulfport. Families celebrate early with a DJ and music, snacks, a New Year’s craft, falling confetti and a ball drop at noon. The price is included with museum admission. 228-897-6039. 10 a.m.-noon
▪ All Ages Balloon Drop and Sprite toast at 5 p.m. at Big Play Entertainment Center, 1842 Beach Blvd., Biloxi, with $1,500 cash and prizes. Champagne toast at midnight for adults.
▪ NYE Glow Anime Party, 5-9 p.m. at Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum, 504 Pass Road, Gulfport. Free, but donations welcome. Part of 33 Days of Christmas & Trains. Come in your favorite Anime Costume and we get glow sticks and some NYE sparkle. Countdown at 8:30 p.m. for the kids with sparkling cider. Museum decorated with 1 million lights.
▪ Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival final night, 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Jones Park, U.S. 49 and 90, Gulfport. $10 for adults, $5 for kids 5-12
▪ Margaritaville Balloon Drop at Margaritaville Resort Biloxi and Escape family entertainment center, 195 Beach Blvd., Biloxi. Balloon drop at 7 p.m. for little tykes, at 10 p.m. for older kids and at midnight. Half price arcade games, with exception of redemption games and attractions, from 10 p.m.-close. DJ Zero Core 9 p.m.-midnight in the entertainment center.
▪ Oyster Ball Drop at Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum, 115 First St., Biloxi. A factory whistle will blow to ring in the New Year and the Midnight Oyster Ball Drop will be followed by fireworks.

Parties for adults

▪ Roaring 20s Party at White House Hotel, 1230 Beach Blvd., Biloxi., at9 p.m. Pouring Moet and Chandon specials and giving away White House gifts, Dress in your swankiest black and white attire to ring in the New Year.
▪ Unauthorized After Hours Tour at Walter Anderson Museum of Art, Ocean Springs. 8 p.m. Interactive late-night gallery tour with flutes of champagne, irreverent museum play, time travel. Free for members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors/military/students/AAA.
▪ Winter Wonderland All-in-White New Year’s Eve Party at The Chapel at Centennial Plaza. Hotel packages come with tickets to the party. Tickets for the public are 2 for $90. Balloon Drop & Champagne Toast at Midnight. Entertainment by Myles Sharp Band. Cash Bar. 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
▪ Gatsby celebration at Cypress Taphouse, 6616 Rose Farm Road, Ocean Springs. 7 p.m.-2 a.m. Three Course Dinner 5-7 p.m. A $10 cover included entertainment, party favors, liquor, beer and giveaways. Midnight money balloon drop and free champagne toast. Early morning breakfast. Roaring ‘20s Gatsby decor. Costumes welcomed.

Mississippi Coast casinos welcome the New Year with big buffets, balloon drops, parties and shows. Here are the major events and entertainment:
