Heating equipment could be the cause of a fire on West Lake Drive on Thursday night, said Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan.

Units from Lizana Fire, Saucier and Harrison County Fire Services were called out around 11:15 p.m. when a home owner discovered a large storage building burning, Sullivan said.

Fire units, along with the rain and cold winds, were able to keep the fire confined to the storage building. However, the storage was destroyed and a nearby home received heat damage.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sullivan said it is believed that the fire was related to equipment used to heat the building during the cold weather.
