Police believe alcohol was a factor in motorcycle wreck, Gulfport official says
A portion of U.S. 90 in Gulfport was closed Friday night after a wreck involving a motorcycle, police Sgt. Josh Bromen said.
Bromen said the driver was traveling westbound on U.S. 90 when he hit a curb and lost control of the motorcycle.
Traffic in the area near the wreck was reduced to one lane as officials worked to clear the roadway.
The driver received moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Bromen said. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Bromen said police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
